> We help creative people come together around creative work. After a decade of the lonely economy that pushed us apart from profit, Metalabel builds what we call groupcore: software that helps bring people together. We're building groupcore software for creative people: shared publishing, shared audiences, shared finances, and much easier ways to collectively benefit from their work.

### NEC's view

Metalabel is a platform built for collective creativity. Instead of centering individual output, it makes it easy for groups of artists, writers, and thinkers to release work together, share audiences, and distribute earnings transparently. We appreciate how it revives the spirit of indie labels and zine culture while adapting it for a digital landscape.

What makes Metalabel stand out is its simplicity and fairness. Creators can publish without upfront costs, set automatic revenue splits between collaborators, and trust that ownership stays with them. The structure encourages shared authorship and makes collective projects feel practical, not cumbersome.

For us, Metalabel represents a shift toward publishing ecosystems that prioritize cooperation over competition. It embodies the kind of infrastructure we want to see more of: tools that are not extractive, but instead support creative solidarity and meaningful, sustainable releases.
